RESOURCES It is important that we keep up to date with the current and future policy context. To that end we constantly review and study the various policy and research initiatives from regional and central government. This page is will constantly build into a useful window into what we believe are the policies that shape the VCS world. It is also our intent to offer commentary on many of these in order to help you get to grips with the implications and opportunities. The CIB Research Lesley and Steven completed a major study during 2006. Commissioned by The Charities Information Bureau, the results of this research have created the focus for our service and workshop activities. Four reports were produced in all, three interim reports and a final report. These are available on the following links: Interim Report I - a detailed review of the initial interviews with voluntary organisations and public sector bodies, particularly procurers. Interim Report II - focused on the outputs of a workshop held as part of the consultation Interim Report III - a review of the third research phase which focused on infrastructure bodies Final Report - including the recommendations for action.
The VCS and Change From our experience with the 2006 research and workshops it is clear that the VCS is facing great change. The following are a series of articles based on our observations and the comments of many others. These short essays are free and are designed to inform the many debates that are on-going in VCS and Public Sector organisations up and down the country. Simply click on the title to download. Too Many Terms, Too Few Useful Terms - No. 1 - Social Enterprise - Just how useful a phrase is "social enterprise". It isn't even common currency in the English speaking world!
